Cloud data security is an intermediate data management software developed at the IRIT Laboratory (Institute of Computer Science) that allows you to virtualize heterogeneous and distributed storage resources that are accessible in a safe, consistent and transparent way. Among the stated data security criteria, we examined the issue of data availability. A common solution for improving both readiness and read performance in a distributed environment is full replication.

As with full replication, using these methods requires a consistency management protocol to ensure consistency between different replicas of data that are scattered across multiple storage resources. For example, the so-called quorum protocols (often called the quorum protocol or system) help ensure data consistency in a distributed environment when replication is used as a method of distributing data.

Public clouds make all resources available to customers through the public Internet. IT resources of various customers can be located in any data center of a service provider or even move from one data center to another to guarantee the required contractual quality of service or optimize the use of supplier resources. Clients use cloud services without worrying about the places where their data is located. These places are run by specialized companies that rent their services; computing and storage power is distributed among various clients.

This type of cloud is used to supply online office tools such as Google Apps or Office 365, to provide virtual infrastructures such as OVH or CloudWatt, etc. Setting up a public cloud requires a lot of investment only from the service provider. Clients do not need an initial investment to use public clouds. They are paid only for the computing resources and / or services that they consume. This cloud category provides flexibility and ease of use, ideal for users who need an infrastructure that can adapt to fluctuations in load. In addition, it provides significant economies of scale and allows you to quickly develop applications, avoiding investing in IT resources while limiting risks. However, concerns remain about the security and protection of data privacy in the public cloud.

A public cloud offers maximum flexibility and is often cheaper than a private cloud for the same service, but it is a less secure model than a private cloud. “Under pressure from the European Union and CNIL (National Commission on Information Technology and Freedoms), public cloud providers now provide more options for tracking the location of available resources by differentiating large areas: Europe, America, and Asia.
